The 80's fashion style is all coming back, I personally love the old vintage styles, and my fashion sense is based on it. My mother tells me how I dress exactly like she used to, and how she wishes she never threw all of her clothes away on her move to Malta.

Besides the 80's influencing fashion nowadays, it has strongly influenced the interior design department as well.

Colour blocking: A fashion trend that was big in the 80's but new runway fashion uses sleeker more fitted lines rather than the boxy built out shoulders of 80's styles. This means colour blocking in textiles and colour stories for one's home.

Bold colours and colour combination: Almost everywhere now colour has been rejuvinated in the strong/hardness of colour. Lots of patterns and colours are put together to create a dramatic and dynamic style on the run way or even in every day life. NEON COLOURS ARE BACK!

Navy: NAVY IS BACK! Ranging from many different shades! It is now less darker then before, and has a softer look and feel to it. It is a dynamic neutral nowadays.

             

KITCHEN ISLANDS: They started off small and not so popular, but as time went on things have changed and now everyone wants one! They are not only used in the kitchen nowadays, but in other various parts of the house.

Patterns: In the 80's loads of patterns were mixed together, and to me looked really unique. Nowadays there are still A LOT of use of patterns, but normally you don't see plenty of patterns put together just one or two that really match and give a sleek look.

Brass in the 80's was always VERY highly polished, but if you compare it to how it looks today, brass is normally given an antique and burnt look to look older and give it a rustic  look
